Seville in 3 days: Your Ultimate Itinerary

Seville is a jewel in the beautiful Andalusia region of South Spain. Sunny weather and fascinating history make Seville a great city break, or you can use it as a base for day trips to explore this Spanish region. Here’s my ultimate itinerary for exploring Seville in 3 days.

Updated: May 2025

Seville is one of my favourite places to visit in Spain. There’s a great range of things to see and do in the city. And Seville also makes a great base for some day trips to other amazing places in the region, including Cordoba and Granada. Visiting Seville in 3 days will give you plenty of time to explore this fascinating Spanish city, as well as give you a taster of the Andalusia region.

When is the best time to visit Seville?

To fully enjoy exploring Seville in 3 days, I’d recommend visiting in spring or autumn. March to May, or September to November, bring warm sunny days and little rain. The summer months of July and August can get extremely hot which can make it difficult to enjoy exploring some of the sights.

Easter can be a great time to visit Seville as there can be extra events on to celebrate Easter. However, Spain is a Catholic country so expect many places to be closed over the Easter weekend, including a lot of the tourist attractions and restaurants. If you’re planning to visit over Easter, check opening times carefully so you can plan your visit around closing times. If you’d rather not risk things being closed for Easter, then visit outside of Easter and still enjoy the beautiful springtime weather.

What should I pack for 3 days in Seville?

To enjoy exploring Seville in 3 days, make sure you’ve got some essential things packed. One of the most important is sun cream, sun glasses and a sun hat. The sun can be really strong in Seville, especially around the summer months. Take plenty of sun protection so you can enjoy being out safely. And make sure you’ve got a water bottle with you all the time as well. A cross-body bag is perfect for carrying these items with you everyday. And make sure you’ve got comfortable shoes, as you’ll likely be walking a lot – trainers are perfect.

You’ll also need plug adaptors if you’re travelling from outside of Europe. You’ll definitely want to be able to charge your phone for all the photos! Consider carrying a separate power bank as well, in case your phone runs out of charge during the day.

Like any trip abroad, you’ll need your passport and plane tickets. Make sure you’ve also saved any tickets for anything that you’ve pre-booked in Seville. Download any tickets to your phone, so you can still access the tickets even if you don’t have phone signal.

Keep reading for my perfect itinerary for exploring Seville in 3 days.

Day 1: The Alcazar and Plaza de Espana

Start your time exploring Seville in 3 days by exploring ones of Seville’s best sights, the famous Alcazar. This really is the highlight of Seville, so I recommend visiting on your first morning.

It’s definitely worth booking your tickets to the Seville Alcazar in advance, especially if you’re visiting at busy times such as around Easter. But even outside of peak times, it’s still best to book your tickets online. The queues can get really long, but if you book online you can skip the queue and have more time to explore. Book tickets online here.

Real Alcazar in Seville

The Alcazar of Seville is a Spanish royal palace, built by the Moorish rulers. The Alcazar was begun in around the 8th century and developed more in the 14th century, when this area of Spain was occupied by the Moors. You can really see the Arabic influence here, with Arabic calligraphy on the walls and the iconic geometric patterns.

Expect to spend a couple of hours exploring the Alcazar and learning about the history. You can get a guided tour, but I preferred walking around at my own pace and reading about the history of the place. There are beautiful gardens to explore as well, which are at their best in springtime. The gardens are beautifully green with colourful flowers. I spent about 3 hours exploring the Alcazar in Seville, and it was definitely one of my highlights of my time exploring Seville in 3 days.

After enjoying lunch at one of the many local tapas bars, head over to Plaza de Espana for the afternoon. One of my favourite things to do in Seville in 3 days is to visit the stunning Plaza de Espana. It’s a beautiful area, and it’s the perfect place to relax a bit in the afternoon.

Plaza de Espana in Seville

The Plaza de Espana was built in 1929 for the Ibero-American Exposition, and it’s a great place to relax. The semicircular buildings surrounded the water are just beautiful in the sun. Spend some time wandering round and relaxing here. There are cafes and bars here where you can sit for a drink and enjoy the views of this stunning area. I spent a while just relaxing and enjoying the sun, before heading out to another tapas bar in the evening.

Day 2: Seville Cathedral, the Bell Tower, and Las Setas

Seville Cathedral and the nearby bell tower, La Giralda, are another highlight of Seville. On day 2 of your ultimate itinerary for 3 days in Seville, I recommend visiting Seville Cathedral in the morning. As you walk around Seville, you’ll be able to see the huge Cathedral from a lot of the streets. So it’s nice to make time on your second day in Seville to go inside the Cathedral and learn more about it.

You can go inside the Seville Cathedral to look around. The queue to go inside wasn’t very long when I visited, so I could get inside quickly. It’s a beautiful building on the inside as well as the outside. Inside the Seville Cathedral, you can see the tomb of Christopher Columbus and admire the architecture.

For the best views over the city of Seville, you can climb to the top of the bell tower of Seville Cathedral. There are a lot of steps, but the views from the top are definitely worth it. You can see across the whole of the city. The bell tower looks especially beautiful in the evening at sunset, when the golden light casts a rich glow over the bell tower.

For something a bit different in the afternoon, I recommend visiting the artistic Las Setas. This stunning piece of modern architecture is really impressive to look at. But the real highlight of visiting Las Setas are the views over the city.

This unique wooden structure is great for photos. It looked great in photos from ground level. But the views from the top are even better for photos. You can walk around the top and see stunning views across the whole of Seville. There’s a bar at the top as well. I loved relaxing at the top of Las Setas with a glass of wine while enjoying the view. It’s a great place to visit in the evening as well.

Day 3: Take a day trip to the white villages or Cordoba

For your final day of your ultimate itinerary for exploring Seville in 3, I recommend taking a day trip to explore somewhere else in the region. Of course, there’s more that you could do in Seville for another day. But the Andalusia region has so many treasures. So if you’ve only got 3 days, I think it’s worth spending one of your days outside the city of Seville and exploring the wider region and nearby cities.

One of the best day trips you can take from Seville is to the white villages of Andalusia: the Pueblos Blancos. You can hire a car and drive around the beautiful white villages of Andalucia. With a car, you can enjoy mountain views, and visit some of the famous villages such as Ronda where you can see the famous bridge. You can read more about a day in the white villages here.

Villages and mountains of Andalusia

Alternatively, another great day trip from Seville is to the nearby city of Cordoba. You can take the train to nearby Cordoba for a day trip from Seville. Only an hour by train, Cordoba has cute cobbled streets and the impressive Mesquita mosque. Read about Cordoba as a day trip from Seville here.

Cordoba Spain

How to spend a week in Andalusia?

If you’ve got a full week to spend in Andalusia, I recommend starting off your week with the above itinerary to spend a few days in Seville. Then take some day trips to the white villages and Cordoba. And finally, finish off your week in Granada. Visiting these places in a week will give you a great taste of this region, and you’ll definitely want to be returning to explore more!

Enjoy your ultimate itinerary for Seville in 3 days! If you’d like to explore more of Andalusia, why not spend a day in nearby Granada. Or if you’re looking to explore more of Spain, check out my guide to Barcelona in 3 days and taking a day trip from Barcelona to the Montserrat monastery in the mountains. Or you can visit the capital city of Spain, Madrid. Check out my guide to spending 3 days in Madrid, and also taking a day trip from Madrid to Segovia and a day trip from Madrid to Toledo.

It can be so difficult to fit in enough time in each place when travelling! I hope you’re able to go back soon and spend some more time there.

Such a beautiful city! I’ve always wanted to go but did not appreciate how magnificent the architecture would be. The Alcazar and Plaza de Espana are simply stunning. Can’t wait to get back out there exploring again!
