Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World is a really fun, empowering musical suitable for children and adults. It’s got a great soundtrack and fun storyline. Here’s my Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World theatre review.
Overview of Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World
Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World is a fun musical that shows some of the women throughout history who have done impressive things and changed history. My Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World theatre review will give a brief overview of the plot so you know what to expect – but it’s an easy show to follow the plot.
Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World follows the story of Jade, a young girl who is left in a hidden room in a museum on a school trip. Here, women from throughout history appear and tell Jade about their lives. The women from history perform songs – sometimes on their own, but often a group of women will sing together. And through their song, they tell their story of how they became well-known.
The women featured in this show include: Emmeline Pankhurst (campaigner for women’s votes in the 1920s), Rosa Parks (American civil rights activist in 1950s), Amelia Earhart (first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean in 1932), Frida Kahlo (Mexican painter known for colourful portraits in mid 1900s), Mary Seacole (nurse in the Crimean War and solo traveller in the 1800s), Gertrude Ederle (the first woman to swim the English Channel in 1926) and Marie Curie (scientist researching radioactivity in early 1900s). This show is a really fun way of learning about these historically important women, with great pop music.
What I liked about Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World
I enjoyed Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World a lot more than I thought I would. I hadn’t seen many reviews before going so I wasn’t sure what to expect – but I ended up really enjoying it! The highlight for me was the songs. I enjoyed all the songs, and have been listening to them lots at home since seeing the musical. The pop songs are really fun and catchy – it’s really happy music. Even if I’m having a bad day at home, these songs will still make me smile. And they’re empowering songs as well – they make you feel motivated, like you can get up and work towards becoming one of these ‘Fantastically Great Women’.
I really liked that this musical was suitable for children, and really showcased the amazing women throughout history. There were some women I hadn’t heard of – and I enjoyed learning about their stories throughout the musical. I think it’s so important that children, especially young girls, know of some of the great women in history and hopefully it can inspire them. I’m in my 30’s and I left the show feeling inspired to do better – so hopefully this show can inspire children as well.
What I wasn’t so sure about
I don’t think there was anything I didn’t like about this musical. I guess technically, it’s probably not the most cutting-edge production – it’s not a theatrical masterpiece. But it was so fun and empowering, I still really enjoyed it.
Would I recommend Fantastically Great Women Who Changed The World

As long as you go to the show expecting to see a fun show with good music – but not ground-breaking theatre – then hopefully you’ll enjoy it too.
