Spain is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. Spain has a great climate, with warm and sunny weather for a lot of the year. If you’re looking for a city break, then Spain has lots of options. You can based yourself in Madrid, Barcelona or Seville. All of these cities have some great sights, and are also a gateway to taking day trips to some smaller towns and villages in the region. If you’re looking to do a city break, the best times to visit are spring and autumn. In spring and autumn in Spain, the weather should be mild, with some sun. But you’ll avoid the peak summer heat, and the peak summer crowds.
I love visiting Madrid, Seville and Barcelona. All three are great city breaks. And all three have great day trip options. And don’t forget about the food as well. Spanish cuisine is famous across the world, with dishes like Paella and Tapas available throughout much of the country. And of course, you’ll need to try Sangria as well.
