Welcome to

Hi, I’m Rachel. I’m a travel blogger, blogging about solo female travel and traveling with chronic health issues. Join me on my travel journeys, travelling the world, seeking out rays of light in every adventure.

I’m a 20-something (nearly 30…shhh) travel blogger based in the UK but always dreaming of somewhere sunnier. I started off travelling with long weekends in Europe, trying to fit as much travel into my annual leave as possible. Then in 2019, I made the decision to leave my job and travel for 6 months – a solo female traveler.

This blog is full of the tips I’ve learnt and stories from a decade of travel, learning to travel with chronic health issues. Travelling with long term health issues and related mental health isn’t always easy, but I hope to show it’s possible to still travel, and most importantly, still have fun and enrich your life.

Living with a long term illness can be isolating and lonely – we were doing lockdowns way before it became a thing in 2020 with Covid-19. We knew what loneliness and isolation were like. Dark, lonely, miserable. But rays of adventure bring rays of sunlight into all corners of my life.

Read my blogs to get inspired to travel all over the world, with my travel guides and top tips for travel. Read about amazing landscapes, wildlife, meeting people, trying new food, opening yourself to new experiences, questioning your values and who you are and what’s important to you. And enriching your life, pushing yourself out your comfort zone, because who knows what adventures are awaiting.

It doesn’t matter how you travel – solo or with partner/family/friends. Long weekends to maximise your annual leave, or maybe you can quit your job and travel for years. I’ve done it all. There’s no right or wrong way to travel. Just enjoy it, open your mind, broaden your horizons, embrace new experiences outside your comfort zone. But most of all have fun!
